Chapter 2: Setting the Context
Gain an expanded understanding of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Understand the importance of DEI for organizations and employees, and its impact - WIIFM.
Learn to appreciate the differences and uniqueness in each of us through exploring the dimensions of diversity - Understand what shapes who we are.
Understand the power dynamics of your role as a people leader and the impact on your team.
Recognize your responsibility as a leader in fostering a culture of inclusion.
Understand unconscious bias, the function bias serves, the sources of bias and how it impacts the workplace.
Recognize our implicit bias and learn practical ways to deal with it.
Identify microaggressions (non-inclusive behaviors) in the workplace and learn what could you do as an inclusive leader.
